FAQs

Do you offer gluten-free products?

We do have a few products that are gluten-free/grain-free: the Grain-free Seed Loaf and GF DF Blueberry Lemon Scones. However, our primary menu is traditional breads and baked goods so those offering are limited. Our kitchen processes a lot of wheat flour on a daily basis. Therefore, our products that are free of  wheat/gluten are still NOT safe for those with extreme allergies.

Can you leave toppings off of my order?

For most products, yes. Some of our customers need to avoid dairy, eggs, or seeds for certain reasons (again, not for severe allergies!). If you let us know ahead of time, we are happy to leave an egg/milk wash or sesame seed topping off of a product that is otherwise free of those ingredients. You can email us for a list of products that fit that category if interested.

What if I want to order a larger amount of something?

If you have a get-together or gathering coming up and want to order multiple loaves of a certain bread* or a large amount of our single-serve baked items**, we've got you covered! We're happy to fill custom orders for full batches on days other than Bake Day. We ask that you give us 3 days advanced notice (or more if it is a really big order) so we have time to prep and bake what you need.

* Full-size breads are a minimum of 3 or 4 loaves (3 for Rosemary Garlic, Onion & Olive, and Tomato Basil, 4 for all other loaves), baguettes are a minimum of 6.

** Single-serve items (scones, biscuits, garlic knots, cinnamon rolls, etc) are by the dozen.

Can I freeze the whole pan of cinnamon rolls / sweet buns for a special event later?

Yes, you can absolutely freeze the entire pan of rolls / buns for a later date. We recommend removing the plastic lid, covering the pan tightly with tinfoil and replacing the plastic lid. Thaw at room temperature and warm up individual buns in the microwave if desired.

The ideal option, if you know ahead of time that you want to freeze them for future enjoyment, is to request - via the customer notes on your order or via text/email - to have the icing on the side for your order. To freeze, wrap pan, as above, tightly in tin foil, place bag of frosting on top of tinfoil, and replace plastic lid. Store this in the freezer for up to 1 month.

When ready to enjoy:

Preheat oven to 300F.

Remove lid, icing bag, and tin foil.

Place pan in oven for 20 minutes. Warm up icing for ~ 20 seconds in a bowl in microwave.

Remove pan from oven and let cool 10 minutes.

Spread icing over rolls.

Storage Suggestions & Tips

Breads

Our breads are preservative free so they will stay fresh on the counter for about 2-3 days and passably fresh for up to 5 days. This can vary based on room temp, what you store it in, and how clean your hands are when you handle it.

* Store soft and enriched breads in plastic or airtight containers

* Store lean, crusty breads in paper or loosely wrapped in parchment

For longer storage, we recommend avoiding the refrigerator as that environments causes bread to go stale the most quickly. The freezer, however, is a great option. Tightly wrap the bread (either pre-sliced or not) in plastic wrap and place inside a freezer bag or container. Bread can be stored in the freezer for up to 6 months. Defrost at room temperature and use as desired.

Refreshing lean, crusty breads such as baguettes:

Turn you oven on to 450F. Spray loaf thoroughly with water (you want the surface wet but not soak through the whole loaf). Place bread in oven for 5 minutes. This should leave you with a delightful crusty outside and soft inside.

Pastries & Sweets

Scones, biscuits, garlic knots and sweet buns are also best within 2 -3 days if stored on the counter. Store in an airtight container or wrapped tightly in plastic. They also benefit from a quick 10 second warm up in the microwave before eating.

For long term storage, these all freeze well if stored in an airtight bag or container. Thaw at room temperature as needed. Warm individually in the microwave as desired.

Biscotti, due to its twice baked nature, lasts extremely well at room temperature for 2 to 3 weeks in an airtight container or sealed bag. Just be aware of your room temperature as the dipping chocolate may melt in warmer environments. Biscotti can also be frozen for up to 3 months in an airtight container then thawed at room temp as needed.
